GameAnalytics Brings Free Analytics to Unreal Engine Developers

Press release: GameAnalytics, one the biggest independent free analytics providers in the games industry, and Epic Games, creators of the powerful cross-platform Unreal Engine, have partnered in order to seamlessly bring GameAnalytics into Unreal Engine.

From today, Unreal Engine developers can easily integrate GameAnalytics via the Unreal Engine Marketplace and get instant access to the rich player data that GameAnalytics provides. The powerful backend will transform this data into valuable, accessible and actionable insights that can be used to improve their games. The tool breaks down player behaviour data into nine predefined or custom dashboards, allows developers to visualise any custom events defined by the developer and helps contextualise and compare metrics with other games that use GameAnalytics either as a whole or by genre.

“During more than a decade, Epic has truly managed to push the boundaries for what game developers can accomplish – from indie studios to massive AAA studios. GameAnalytics is on a mission to follow up from where the Unreal Engine ends and enable game developers to monitor and optimize everything easily, from user acquisition to game design based on hard facts,” explained Morten E. Wulff, Founder of GameAnalytics.

“GameAnalytics offers an awesome service to teams of all sizes, for every type of game you can imagine,” said Epic Games Founder and CEO Tim Sweeney. “We’re happy to release GameAnalytics freely through the Marketplace, and our developers are going to love having even more vision into their games.”

Wulff continued: “It’s a big day for us here at GameAnalytics! Ever since we launched in 2012 our mission has been to provide the easiest yet most powerful free analytics tool on the market. Part of that vision has always included an Unreal SDK, so today is a big milestone for me personally, and I’m proud of the work that the team put into making this a reality.”

GameAnalytics was founded in 2012 with $8m in funding from notable investors such as the CEO of Huffington Post, Jimmy Maymann, and TechCrunch’s founder, Michael Arrington. GameAnalytics is a Danish company and it now supports almost 9,000 games and tracks more than 300 million new players each month.
