About GameAnalytics

What is GameAnalytics?

GameAnalytics is the leading growth and analytics platform for the gaming industry. We help studios, developers, and publishers turn player data into decisions across mobile, Roblox, PC/Console, and VR platforms. Our IQ Suite brings together analytics, creative and advertising intelligence, and data pipelines in one unified platform.

Who uses GameAnalytics?

Over 100,000 studios worldwide, from solo indie developers to large publishers. Our free tier scales with any studio size, and our Pro plans add advanced capabilities for teams with dedicated data, UA, LiveOps, and engineering functions.

How long has GameAnalytics been around?

GameAnalytics was founded in 2011 by Morten Wulff. We were the first analytics platform built specifically for gaming, and we've spent over 14 years focused on the industry.

How much data does GameAnalytics process?

We process over 27 billion events every day across the games running on our platform. That scale gives us industry benchmarks and market intelligence no newcomer can replicate.

Where is GameAnalytics based?

Our headquarters is in Copenhagen, Denmark, with an office in London.

What platforms does GameAnalytics support?

Mobile (iOS and Android), Roblox, PC and console, and VR/AR. We offer SDKs and integrations for Unity, Unreal, and most major game engines. Explore the complete list of supported SDKs to learn more.

Getting started

How do I get started with GameAnalytics?

Sign up for a free account at tool.gameanalytics.com/signup, create a game in the platform, integrate one of our SDKs, and you'll start seeing player data within minutes. Our documentation walks through every step and you can use AI to integrate our SDK programmatically.

Which SDK do I need for my game?

We support 30+ SDKs across game engines, platforms, and custom implementations. Game engine SDKs include Unity, Unreal, Roblox, Godot, Cocos2D, GameMaker, Flutter, Defold, Cordova, Construct, and Adobe Air. Platform SDKs cover iOS, Android, tvOS, Meta Quest, JavaScript, C++, and C#. For any environment not directly supported, our REST Collection API offers a fallback for custom implementations. See our full list of SDKs and integrations for details.

How long does SDK integration take?

Basic integration typically takes 15 to 30 minutes for most engines. Advanced event tracking and custom setup take longer, depending on how granular you want your analytics. If you integrate the SDK programmatically with an AI coding assistant using our MCP Documentation Server, basic setup can be done in a few minutes, since the assistant pulls the correct instrumentation directly from the current documentation and writes it into your codebase for you.

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

No. The free tier is genuinely free, with no credit card required.

What events should I track first?

Start with core lifecycle events: session start, level or progression events, monetization events (in-app purchases and ad impressions), and any custom design events that map to your game's specific mechanics. Our starter guide on what events to track first walks through the priority order by KPI, platform, and genre.

Can I integrate GameAnalytics with AI coding tools?

Yes. The best way to integrate GameAnalytics with AI coding tools is through our Documentation MCP Server. It connects your AI assistant to GameAnalytics documentation so it can look up features, workflows, and configuration while you work, without you having to switch to the documentation site. AI coding agents can also read the documentation and use it to instrument the GameAnalytics SDK in your codebase automatically. Supported tools include Claude (one-click via the connector directory), Claude Code, Cursor, Cursor Agent, Codex, Antigravity, Windsurf, Visual Studio Code, JetBrains AI Assistant, Gemini CLI, Goose, and OpenCode.

MarketIQ and Ad Insights

What is MarketIQ?

MarketIQ is our market and advertising intelligence platform. It includes Store Intelligence (free tier) for tracking app store rankings and metadata, and Ad Insights (Pro tier) for creative ad research across 160+ networks and 28+ platforms.

What is Ad Insights?

Ad Insights is our creative and ad intelligence engine, part of MarketIQ Pro. It lets UA and creative teams research what competitors are running: creatives, ad networks, regions, campaigns, and store listing changes. See the Ad Insights overview documentation.

How is Ad Insights different from Sensor Tower, AppMagic, or SocialPeta?

Ad Insights combines ad intelligence and creative intelligence in a single workflow. Unlike tools focused primarily on revenue or download tracking, Ad Insights emphasizes creative research: playable ad libraries, image and video search, creative sequencing, and performance signals (DAU, retention, and spend estimates) alongside ad activity. Data refreshes same-day as creatives go live, so UA teams can act on what’s running in market now rather than reports from last week. And it’s priced for transparent self-serve access rather than sales calls.

What data does Ad Insights show me?

Competitor ad creatives (video, playable, image), ad network distribution, geographic reach, audience demographics, impression estimates, ad lifecycle data, store listing changes, download and revenue estimates, DAU and retention data, and SDK stack information. See the Ad Insights features documentation for the full breakdown.

Can I search for specific ads I've seen in the wild?

Yes. Ad Insights includes Image and Video Search: upload a screenshot or clip and find matching or visually similar creatives across our library, plus the studio behind them.

What ad types does Ad Insights track?

Rewarded Video Ads, Interstitial Ads, Native Ads, Banner Ads, Splash Ads, Grid Ads, and Pre-movie Ads. You can filter the creative gallery by ad type to focus on the formats relevant to your genre.

How often is Ad Insights data updated?

Ad Insights continuously scans networks and captures new creatives, usually within hours of them going live in market. Store listing changes are tracked in real time.

Does Ad Insights track store listing changes?

Yes. See every store listing change for any app, the moment it happens. Track updates to screenshots, descriptions, categories, and downloads, filtered by country and update type, with before-and-after comparisons.

How much does MarketIQ from GameAnalytics cost?

MarketIQ from GameAnalytics starts at $499 per month billed monthly (or roughly $299 per month billed annually with the 40% yearly discount) for the Pro tier, with Store Intelligence available for free. Pro includes 10 seats.

What is included in free MarketIQ?

The free tier includes Store Intelligence: track competitor app store rankings, top charts, and metadata across major app stores. Useful for benchmarking your position and monitoring competitor movement without a paid subscription.

What is included in MarketIQ Pro?

MarketIQ Pro adds Ad Insights, our full competitive advertising and creative intelligence platform. This includes ad distribution analysis (network mix, geos targeted, ad formats, audience insights), creative insights across all creatives launched by any app, image and video search to identify creatives you find in the wild, similar audience apps for competitor discovery, app comparison across multiple apps in one view, download and revenue data on over 1 million apps, integrated SDK visibility, and Top Promoted apps ranked by paid advertising investment.

PipelineIQ

What is PipelineIQ?

PipelineIQ is our data infrastructure product for teams that want raw game data flowing into their own systems. It includes Data Warehouse, Data Export, API Access, and MCP Server for AI agent integration.

What is Data Warehouse in PipelineIQ?

Data Warehouse gives you continuous, structured delivery of your raw game data into your own environment (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, and others). No custom pipeline engineering required, no unpredictable query costs.

What is Data Export in PipelineIQ?

Data Export lets you run custom analyses in real time and export your raw data on demand. Suited for teams that need one-off deep analysis rather than continuous warehouse sync.

What is API Access in PipelineIQ?

API Access lets your team query GameAnalytics data programmatically, integrate it into custom dashboards, or feed it into other tools in your stack.

Can I use my own data warehouse with PipelineIQ?

Yes. PipelineIQ is designed to deliver GameAnalytics data into your existing infrastructure (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, and others). You keep full control of your data pipeline and query costs.

How much does PipelineIQ from GameAnalytics cost?

PipelineIQ from GameAnalytics starts at $499 per month with custom pricing based on your needs. There is no free tier for PipelineIQ, all capabilities sit in the Pro plan.

What is included in PipelineIQ Pro?

PipelineIQ Pro includes Custom Event Fields (an additional 50 event fields for tailored data), Data Warehouse (managed BigQuery instance for player-level and aggregated data), Data Export (raw player-level data delivered to your AWS or GCS bucket), Metrics API for accessing pre-processed aggregated data, Organization API for programmatic administration, Game Data Sharing across partner studios, and the MCP Server for AI-accessible game data through tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini.

AI features

Does GameAnalytics have AI features?

Yes. Current features include the MCP Documentation Server for agentic SDK setup, the MCP Server for AI-accessible game data (available as part of PipelineIQ Pro or as a standalone subscription at $149 per month), and the AI Agent for autonomous analysis inside AnalyticsIQ. New features launch continuously.

What is the GameAnalytics MCP Server?

The GameAnalytics MCP Server lets AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor read and reason about your game’s data directly. You can query metrics, diagnose issues, and generate reports through natural language. It’s included in PipelineIQ Pro, or available as a standalone subscription at $149 per month. See the MCP Server documentation for setup and usage details.

What is the AI Agent?

The AI Agent (part of AnalyticsIQ Pro) is an autonomous analyst that runs inside AnalyticsIQ. It surfaces patterns, diagnoses issues, and answers questions about your data without you needing to write queries or navigate dashboards manually.

What is the GameAnalytics MCP Documentation Server?

The GameAnalytics MCP Documentation Server makes SDK setup and configuration agentic. AI assistants can read our full documentation directly and help you integrate GameAnalytics faster, with accurate setup guidance grounded in the current docs. Works with Claude, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, VS Code, JetBrains AI Assistant, Gemini CLI, and other MCP-compatible tools. Pairs with the GameAnalytics MCP Server so your AI assistant can both instrument the SDK and analyze the resulting data from the same interface.

Which AI assistants work with GameAnalytics?

Any AI assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This includes Claude, ChatGPT (through custom integrations), Cursor, Lovable, and any other tool that speaks MCP. Our integration works out of the box with the major MCP-enabled assistants.

Is my data safe when using AI features?

Yes. AI features access data through the same secure permissions and authentication your team uses. Your data never trains external AI models, and access is controlled through your existing GameAnalytics account permissions.
